A designer of Maltese origin, Gordon Guillaumier trained in Malta, Switzerland, England and Italy, where he graduated in industrial design from the IED in Milan and then took a master’s degree in industrial design at the Domus Academy. In 2002, he opened his own studio in Milan and dedicated himself to product design for international companies, ranging from upholstery to ceramics. He also does strategic consultancy and interior design work. His approach – between product and residential projects – is based on balance and attention to visual, tactile and material aspects. His awards include: Wallpaper Design Award 2014, Honourable Mention at the XXIV Compasso d’Oro in 2016, ADI Design Ceramic Award 2016, NYCxDESIGN Awards 2019. He has taught at the Faculty of Industrial Design of the Milan Polytechnic and at the Abadir Academy of Design and Visual Arts. He is part of the team in charge of the artistic direction of RODA.
