Jens Risom

Jens Risom, a Danish designer with a solid background, moved to the United States in the 1930s. He met Hans Knoll and they revolutionised the design world, creating innovative and functional furniture from materials salvaged during the war. Their first catalogue, designed entirely by Risom, is a success. After the war, Risom founded his own design company, continuing to create iconic pieces. His career is studded with awards, including a knighthood award from the Queen of Denmark. Risom is considered a pioneer of modern design, combining Scandinavian aesthetics with American ingenuity, and his creations are still highly regarded today.
