Miguel Milà

Miguel Miláa key figure in Spanish contemporary design, emerged in the pioneering generation of the 1950s, with his furniture and lamps becoming timeless classics. Beginning his career in interior design during a period of sparse industrial activity in Spain, Milá’s work was deeply influenced by a context that valued traditional craftsmanship. He founded Tramo (“trabajos molestos”) with friends, producing iconic designs like the TMC and TMM lamps, and later established his own studio. A co-founder of ADI-FAD, Milá played a significant role in promoting Spanish design internationally. His designs, celebrated for their rigor and honesty, have remained popular, earning him prestigious awards including the Premio Nacional de Diseño and the Compasso d’Oro.
