Oriano Favaretto is an Italian artist who has achieved success through his talent and passion for Murano glass. After graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice with master Emilio Vedova, Favaretto found inspiration in the Venetian countryside, where he drew from the human and natural presences for his inner and artistic development.
Working with legendary names in the field, he achieved numerous successes in his career. In 1981, he won the Italian Academy competition, which also earned him a scholarship from the Bevilacqua la Masa Foundation. In 1987 and 1992 he won the Murano Prize, the Guggenheim Peggy Collection and the A.B.A., while in 1993 he won the prestigious Lampada d’Oro in Paris, awarded by the S.I.I. Finally, in 1997 he won the Prix d’Excellence for the Polipò Lamp of the Year, Marie Claire.
Favaretto is a rural and visionary artist who balances form and content. He has collaborated with major international companies and brands. His works are currently exhibited at the Murano Glass Museum and in private collections.
