Peter Zumthor

Peter Zumthor is a Swiss architect, born in Basel in 1943. He studied at the Pratt Institute in New York and began working in historical restoration and as a teacher at a young age. 

During his career, he received several awards and in 1979, he founded his own atelier. His style is distinguished by the quality and craftsmanship of the surfaces and a preference for natural materials left visible.
